You have an excellent technique for creating realistic water and landscape. The contrast between the yellow/gold sky and the blue water is most stunning. I particularly enjoy the additions of the red accents on the ship itself, and the flock of birds to the right of the picture to help balance that.

There are some small details you might consider for your next piece that involves a ship. The rudder, on the stern of the vessel is usually completely underwater, however, there are a few models of ship that do hold about 5% of the rudder above the sea level. In addition, the perspective of this vessel is only slightly skewed, as you can see the entire back side of the stern as well as the entire bow profile, almost as if the stern of the ship is bowed inward (like a sideways banana, but less severe). Most sailors of the portrayed era would avoid a rocky shore like the plague, and would moor miles off shore, sending small rowboats to navigate the rocks instead. Of course, I do appreciate the use of the rocks to frame the scene.

All in all, you have an admirable technique for creating realistic texture and colors in your pieces, a most captivating piece to be sure!
