I know that I wrote a critique last time, but this one is way to amazing to pass up. I can not draw as well as you can, and I hope some day I could learn.

I love your vision in this piece. I usually don't like Ice caves because they're dark and ominous, usually only lit by one slit of light that someone happened to fall through. In this one though, you completely rethink it by having it be a whole carved out place. I love the open feeling, with the spire in the side left, as well as the background of, what is that? A spaceship? It just seems to add the surreal feeling of it.

I love the originality in this one. You worked on showing how the place wasn't just another cave with the lighting that you can clearly see emanates from the spire. (good job on that by the way) It's well done how you put in the man sailing the ship, so we can get a measurement on size. This piece sets itself apart from others by not letting any details drop out of hand, and paying close attention to every detail. No matter you look, you can see a varying detail that coordinates with something else. Or just sets itself to have something coordinate with. It all adds to the mystery of the cavern.

I think I can't say anything but praise for your technique. Using blurriness to indicate distance and sunshine was excellent, as well as the crispness and 3rd dimension of each iceberg. You really shine with the ice crystals itself. You make sure to show, when the light hits, how the light refracts through it and around the ice spires as well. You show light very well, having places that would be getting the last of it, barely lit, and even including a bit of yellow light on the ice walls.

The only thing to think of when you see this piece is 'whoa'. It immediately takes your eyes to the outside, where you can see that the cave isn't the only thing that's strange. They you're drawn inside by the glowing spire, and as you let your focus draw out, you notice the boat, which lets you even more appreciate the magnitude of what you're seeing. Each detail is fresh, even the ice crystals, which could be mistaken for real pieces of ice.

This piece takes care to make every single element beautiful in its own way. It guides focus, and then lets your eyes explore the incredibly realistic feel of the piece. My only complaint, if any, is that it's really hard to see where the background meets the sea anything in the front is fine, while the horizon is left to your imagination.
